Toronto International Film Festival 2012
Riz Ahmed is the title bearer of the film, The Reluctant Fundamentalist—a film by Mira Nair based on a best-selling book of the same title by Mohsin Hamid. It is a story about a young Pakistani who pursued his American Dream on Wall Street. But, the more hes chasing for success, the more, hes being pulled back into his homeland.
When he was drop off by the TIFF car, he waved his hand to the crowd but no one really knew who he was. The photographers started taking photos of him while, we, the fans, had no idea about his identity. After posing for the press photographers, someone from TIFF introduced him to us but we were still unsure of who he was. Its really kind of awkward when he came nearer to the waiting fans and most were reluctant to hand in their notebooks for an autograph—until a girl fan asked for a photo with him. Then, the rest of us followed but there wasnt much shrieking voices around.
Hes actually a nice guy. He accommodated everyone, til the last person on the end of the fence.
