Things to do in Miraflores
Miraflores is a vibrant and upscale neighborhood in Lima, Peru, that offers a variety of activities and attractions for tourists. My Peruvian friends say this neighborhood is the safest of all the busiest places in Lima. Police presence is ubiquitous, especially in crowded, touristy places. The only thing that you might not like is that it’s a bit far from the old downtown Lima or the city’s historic district. However, you can always take a bus or an Uber to go there. Here are some of the top things to do in Miraflores:

Walk on the Malecón
This scenic boardwalk stretches along the Pacific Ocean and is popular for walking, running, or cycling. The Malecón also features a skate park, playgrounds, and a variety of restaurants and cafes. My favorite cafe is right by the cliff, overlooking the ocean. It’s just too bad that on that afternoon, the sun was nowhere, hidden behind the thick fog in Lima.

Admire the Beautiful Sculpture at Parque del Amour
Located on the cliffs overlooking the ocean, the Parque del Amour (Park of Love) is a romantic spot for couples to take in stunning views. The park is also a popular spot for wedding proposals and photography.

Enjoy People-Watching at Kennedy Park
Named after President John F. Kennedy, this park is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. It features a variety of trees, plants, and flowers, as well as a pond and a playground. The colorful art installations/sculptures here are worth ogling at.

Visit Huaca Pucllana Pyramid
This ancient clay pyramid is a well-preserved example of pre-Incan architecture. It dates back to 500 AD and was once a ceremonial and administrative center for the Lima Culture. Visitors can take guided tours of the site and learn about its history and significance. You can buy the ticket here.
Shop for Souvenirs at Inka Market
Located in the heart of Miraflores, the Inka Market is a great place to shop for souvenirs and local crafts. It features a variety of stalls selling handmade jewelry, textiles, pottery, and more.

Larco Museum – Oh My Goodness!
This museum is home to the largest collection of pre-Columbian art in Peru. It features a variety of ancient artifacts, including ceramics, textiles, and gold and silver objects, as well as a beautiful garden. But most tourists go here mainly because of the Sex Museum, part of the museum’s permanent collection. You can buy the tickets here.

Play with the Cats at Parque de Los Gatos (Cat Park)
This park is home to a colony of cats that have made it their home. Visitors can watch the cats as they play and relax in the park. Can you pet them? I did pet one because he came and sat next to me. I was hesitant to pet him, but he seemed to like it when I scratched his back.

Go Shopping at Larcomar
This modern shopping center is located on the cliffs overlooking the ocean and offers a variety of stores, restaurants, and cafes. It’s a great place to spend an afternoon shopping and enjoying the views.

Try Parasailing or Paragliding
If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, consider paragliding or parasailing in Miraflores. Several companies offer parasailing tours, which allow you to soar over the ocean while being pulled by a boat.

Overall. Miraflores has everything: shopping, outdoor adventures, or dining, you’ll find plenty of activities to keep you busy during your visit. And since you’re already exploring this area, why not explore its equally famous district with a bohemian vibe – Barranco?!
Where to Stay in Lima
I’d say that staying in Miraflores is your best bet. It’s modern, and everything you need is close by. Even the locals would recommend staying in the area because it’s safe. I stayed at Pariwana Hostel Lima in Miraflores. If you can afford it, book your stay at Innside Lima Miraflores.
