These rickshaws in Melaka are beautiful. For a few travelers, they are just overly-decorated tuktuks that are everywhere in the city.

But, of all the rickshaws I’ve ridden in Southeast Asia, the ones in Malacca are the most delightful of all!

This blog post displays an array of colorfully-themed tuktuks that are hard to miss when traveling to Melaka.

Melaka’s old town center is the Red Square where you will find the Christ Church and Stadthuys.

It is in this tiny square where these brightly-coloured man-powered vehicles assemble.

They are such a delight to watch and each has its own unique design.

Most themes/designs are based on Disney cartoons and Marvel superheroes!

Look at these! They have Frozen, the Despicable Minions, Hello Kitty, Spiderman, Baby Shark, and more!

You can, of course, hire these rickshaws in Melaka!

If you love Disney characters and Superheroes, you will be in a quandary which rickshaw to pick.

But unfortunately, you can’t just choose the one you like.

You have to ride on the first one in the queue. But that’s ok.

Whichever tuktuk you are in, it’s guaranteed that you’re gonna enjoy the ride.

The touristy ride/tour will bring you to places of interest within the UNESCO World Heritage area.

I’m not really sure if they can be hired outside the Old Town. Their route is probably limited within certain areas.

However, it doesn’t matter wherever you wanna go. Riding in one of these fabulous rickshaws in Melaka will be a ride you will never forget too soon.
Where to Stay in Melaka
Melaka may look small for a one-day visitor if he’s only fixed on exploring the old city. However, beyond that, Melaka is a pretty bustling city with budget accommodations and 5-star hotels.
