As soon as I hopped on the car of a friend who met me at the train station, he directly brought me to Oudayas Kasbah. It’s a casbah inside an impressive ancient fortress with a huge gate that would make you feel like a dwarf. Stop right at the gate and look up – admire its imposing arches and splendid carvings. You’ll be tongue-tied.

The city of Rabat is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012.

The strong fortress from outside is surrounded by palm trees and green spaces.

Inside the casbah, the streets are narrow.

The houses are painted in white and blue.

Take notice on the doors, stairs and windows with unique moorish designs.

There are corners that are photogenic, too! 😀

Keep walking around until you reach the spacious terrace.

Here, you’ll see the Atlantic Ocean.

And the river that separates Rabat and Sale.

From Udayas Kasbah, you can also see the view of the unfinished Hassan Tower built in 1195.

Before you exit, don’t forget to visit the beautiful garden inside the casbah.
