The Statue of Liberty is the most recognizable symbol of New York, if not of America. On the ferry going to Staten Island (see previous post), make sure to stand on the right side of the ferry so you could see a glimpse of the imposing Lady Liberty in its wholeness.
I can’t believe I finally saw it from afar. All the photos I’ve seen of her in the past are now real right before me.
I finally, finally made it to New York—because I’ve seen the most famous statue of all. I’ll visit her up close and personal next week. So, watch out for the part 2 because I’m gonna wear my quintessential accessory: the rainbow wig.
I like this photo. If I have to make a book about New York, I’ll use this as a cover. The Statue as a symbol of America—and the helicopter as a symbol of America’s paranoia. There are helicopters roving New York’s sky–night and day.
