Gay-Owned Guesthouse: 5 Reasons Why You Should Stay at Mahasen by Foozoo in Colombo

One of the perks of traveling is that you get to stay in many hotels/guesthouses and you get to taste incredible local hospitality. Mahasen by Foozoo in Colombo (Sri Lanka) is one of those accommodations I’ve stayed where as soon as you enter the door, you feel like you’re welcome – whoever you are. It was like home. Cozy, filled with house vibes (it was actually a multi-storey house), and extremely friendly staff are some of the reasons that totally made the difference in my short stay here.

And it’s straight-friendly, of course! Everyone is welcome here – whatever your relationship status is. 😀 It’s clean and its wooden structure makes it feel like your home in a tropical country. The sun terrace upstairs is a good place to relax at the end of the day. You can even have your breakfast delivered up there.

Yes, they don’t just offer accommodation. They can also help you with your itinerary in the country and arrange whatever logistics you need to make your stay in Sri Lanka a trip to remember. 4. The staff members are just mint perfect

They know the art of entertaining foreigner visitors and tending to their needs. They are humble, down to earth, and very friendly. My flight landed at 2:00 AM and when I arrived at their doorstep at 3:30 the receptionist welcomed me with open arms. He carried my luggage all the way up to the 3rd floor and helped me settled in my room. He never left until I assured him that I didn’t need anything more.

5. They’ve got a sauna and clean rooms

Their superior rooms include a sauna or a hot tub. It’s seldom you can find such amenities in a guesthouse. The rooms are impeccably clean with a closet. My wifi connection inside my rooms was good, too. You can’t smoke in your room but they have a tiny, well-cared garden where you can do that.
