The Expressionz Hotel Kuala Lumpur has a Sky Pool With amazing views of Kuala Lumpur. It’s not even that far to the center of KL but twenty-eight minutes walk. The selling point of this hotel is, I think, the infinity pool that graced the Instagram pages of influencers and wannabes. You could not really blame them (or us) because every pose you do here is worth a “like” you get from your IG followers 😀

My Review

BOOKING
I stayed here for 6 days. I booked 3 weeks before I arrived and I requested to be on a high floor with good views of the city. And they delivered. I can’t complain because I really had one of the best (if not the best) rooms.

CHECK-IN
The check was a bit complicated from my point of view. There were two people ahead of me and it took 18 minutes before my turn. That’s an average of 9 minutes for each person. Goodness, that’s a waste of time! They should do better than this. And they should have an option to send the receipt via email, instead of printing it. You know – saving Mother Earth?

KEYS
OMG! The keys they give to everyone are old-fashioned for a modern hotel. They are humongous! Why not move on with the rest of the hotel world? Have they heard of magnetic card keys?

THE ROOM
I can only speak for my room on the 11th floor. I like it, honestly. The bed was comfy and the views were stunning. I could see the Petronas Towers from my bed and that’s what matters. 😀

Not to mention the sunset views from my room were incredibly magnificent!

And oh, the night views are equally stunning as the sunset.

The room comes with a bathroom, TV, AC, good wifi connection, washing machine, 2 water bottles every day, a good-sized bathroom, and a shower pool. They also have a buffet breakfast for an additional fee. The breakfast menu was ok, but they serve almost the same food everyday.

The Infinity / Sky Pool

You might get excited to go up to the last floor and dip into the hotel’s infinity/sky pool as soon as you arrive. But wait – there’s something that the hotel is not telling you about it. There’s a HIDDEN FEE! That’s right! They didn’t say anything about the RM10 fee every time you use the infinity pool. I asked them if I could have one complimentary entry as I was staying for 6 days, but said no. It’s not like I was there for a night just to take millions of photos on the sky pool, but I was there for a week! And yet, they were not willing to give me one complimentary pass – which I deserve. 😉 When I confronted the receptionist on why they are not being transparent in booking sites, he was tongue-tied. This pissed me off, really.
