“What’s it’s like in a Crocodile Park?”, you might ask. Well, there are lots of crocodiles for sure. I’ve never seen so many crocodiles before in my life. The crocodiles I know in the Philippines are people, the politicians. Not a joke. If I were a crocodile, I’d be devastated to be compared to the politicians there. Seriously.
On a lighter note, let me show you what’s inside the Davao Crocodile Park.
The crocodiles are kept in secured fences.
They’re also kept according to their sizes / ages.
During feeding time, they huddle together where the meat is and sometimes jump high as they could to catch the meat as bait.
Though safe and secured, I’m still kinda scared to look at them. They pretended to be sleeping or immobile but when they suddenly move or open their eyes, it scared the shit out me. is that where the expression “crocodile tears” come from? 😀
I’m not really sure if that concrete floor is good for them.
The Crocodile Park is also a mini-zoo. They have other animals like parrots and this bird.
This tiger has a really beautiful pair of eyes. And he lives in a concrete jungle, too. his movements are limited.
The park feeds this python live chickens.
You want to feed these ostrich? pay up 20 pesos and you’ll have something to brag to your friends. LOL…
Like humans, orangutans need company. I just wish he has someone of his kind in the same cage. My heart breaks for this fella. He was playful to me and to the other visitors. Give him company or free him!
Davao Crocodile Park is a good place for field trips. Students will learn from the center. I just wish that the cages of some of the animals are bigger and cleaner. Treat them the way you want to be treated.
