Autumn in New York
The title of this blog entry, Autumn in New York has nothing to do with the movie starred by Winona Ryder and Richard Gere having a May-December love affair. No, I’ve never seen them in person. But, I remember, I cried while watching that movie. And I remember how beautiful, stunning and colourful Central Park was. Living in a tropical country back then, experiencing autumn with its bursting and fiery colours was/is next to impossible.
Last weekend, I had the chance to see New York City’s Central Park in its explosion of hues, tints, tones and pigments. And boy, it was faaaaabuloussss!!!!! It was like the city that never sleeps had really prepared itself for my coming! LOL…
I’ll quote some of the memorable lines from the movie, [easyazon_link asin=”B00003CXL7″ locale=”US” new_window=”yes” nofollow=”default” tag=”pridecostume-20″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”yes”]Autumn in New York[/easyazon_link], side by side with the photos I took in Central Park.
“Man, you don’t dance…you float!”
“What’s the point of being young and beautiful if not to keep a man waiting?”
“There’s only 2 kinds of love stories in this world…boy loses girl, girl loses boy…that’s it. Somebody always gets left behind.”
“I would go with you in a heartbeat.”
“Now what I like so much about you is I find you completely unprecedented, and then, therefore, utterly unpredictable.”
“It’s the scariest day of the year. Yet only one thing scares me. That we might never have met.”
“I’m too old for you.”
“I collect antiques.”
“If you wanted to seduce me, all you’d have to do is ask.”
“The stars are as soft as flowers, and as near. The hills are webs of shadows, slowly spun. No separate leaf or single blade – are all blend into one.”
“What I wanna say to you is that, all I’m able to offer you, is this. What we have right now nothing more, just this. Until the dance. What I mean is, we have no future.”
“I had a fantasy that you’re out there looking for me, and all you really wanted to say was that you were sorry.”
“Can you let me love you? Please. Please. Please. Please let me try again.”
“I’m sorry. I am. I’m here but, I have no right to be here.”
“Uhm… I can smell the rain, when did I learned how to do that? What should we do will, with this moment that we’re in?”
“Well, look at it this way. We can have it real, which we both know is way better, and you wouldn’t have to pay full price because like in a year or so I’d be just this sob story you could use to bag more chicks.”
“You ruined me for other woman.”
“I saved you for them.”
“You look at me in a way that I haven’t quite earned. So earn it”
“I never pretended to be what I’m not.”
“Did you know exactly in the beginning what’s gonna happen in the end?“

Whoa…. great photos of my city. 🙂
I live on the northeaster side of this park.
Never heard about the movie but I’ll check it out.
If this photo was taken on a Saturday (Nov 2) in central Park in the morning, then, I was one of those runners. :))
Pete,
Yeah, on that day and time. 😀
