Attractions to Explore at Hengdian World Studios for Two Days

These are the attractions to explore at Hengdian World Studios in the Zhejiang province of China. It is a must-see destination for any film or history enthusiast. With its sprawling grounds and numerous sets, it is known as the “Hollywood of China” and has been the filming location for numerous blockbuster movies and television shows. With over 1,200 acres of space, the studio is the largest in the world and is home to several impressive sets, including the Palace of Emperor Qin, Riverside Scenes, and Ming and Qing Palaces.

Hengdian World Studios Tickets

There are three types of tickets to buy. The first one is the Single Entry Ticket which means that you will pay for every palace/place you choose to explore. The second one is the Two-Day ticket which costs RMB500 for 10 selected attractions. The third one is the Three-Day ticket which costs RMB590 for 12 destinations. I bought the 2-day ticket but only managed to explore 4 attractions because it was too huge and I didn’t start early. Planning what to see (especially the incredible performances) can be overwhelming since the studios are huge and are in different places across the city. You can join a tour if you want to save yourself from planning.

One of the standout sets at Hengdian World Studios is the Palace of Emperor Qin, which was used as the filming location for the hit television series “The Palace of Desire.” The grandiose palace, which covers an area of over 10 acres, is a replica of the real-life palace built by Emperor Qin during the Qin Dynasty. Visitors can explore the intricately designed halls and courtyards, taking in the grandeur of ancient Chinese architecture.

Once you are inside the Qing and Ming Palaces, you will find a balloon that will take you up there for an extra RMB120.

Overall, Hengdian World Studios is a unique and fascinating destination that offers visitors a glimpse into the rich history and culture of China. Whether you’re a film buff or a history enthusiast, Hengdian World Studios is a must-see destination on any trip to China.

How to get to Hengdian World Studios

Dongyang town is a part of Jinhua City in Zhejiang Province. The best and the most convenient way to go to Hengdian is through Jinhua. From Jinhua Railway station, get on the metro/subway red line and get off at Qing and Ming Palaces, the last stop.

From Shanghai, you can take a train to Yiwu City and then take a metro (the same Jinhua red line metro above) and get off at the last stop.

Where to Stay in Hengdian / Dongyang City

From the station, I took a cab to Elan Dongyang Hengdian Studios Boutique Hotel, which I highly recommend. The hotel itself is just 400 meters from one of the biggest studios in the city. Another place I’d recommend is the Jinjiang Inn Hengdian World Studios, which is 1.2 kilometers from the nearest studios.

If you are traveling in China, it’s better to book your hotels/accommodations on Trip.com because it has more options than using international booking service providers. You can also book your train, rental car, and tours on Trip.com, so it would be very convenient to use one site for your China trip.
