That’s 2013 Pride Toronto ‘s theme for Pride Week, a ten-day celebration of queer culture. It’s time to let the public know we have our own gay super heroes in all shapes and colors of the rainbow. I actually like the fun sound of the theme, a change from a serious ones in the past. It’s about time to honor the gay superheroes. Yay!
However, ours have no names, like Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman, Spiderman, etc… Every LGBT member IS a superhero. Funny how those superheroes I mentioned were all in tight latex, body-fitting costume—isn’t that gay enough? LOL…
Pride Week is from June 21 – 30, 2013. For Pride activities, please refer to Pride Toronto’s website:
Just like in the past years, Pride Toronto is expecting more than a million people to watch and participate in any Pride Week activities.
Keep these important dates:
Street Festival – June 28 – 30 – Expect raves and live performances in the Gay Village
Trans March – June 28 / Friday – For the first time in history, the Trans will march along Yonge Street. Yay!
Dyke March – June 29 / Saturday – Dykes on Bikes will lead the parade and expect a thousand (or more?) participants.
Pride Parade – June 30 / Sunday – Nobody misses the finale of all Pride celebrations. It’s the most fabulous of all where politics, gay culture, fun, pride and love—all together in one spectacular parade that would last for three hours, commencing from Church and Bloor to Yonge and Dundas Square.
See you there!
